Production: The yellow mustard seeds come from the white mustard plant. The yellow flowers produce seed pods that contain around 12 seeds, which are harvested just before the pods become ripe and burst.
Qualities: Mustard seeds have many culinary uses as well as topical uses in herbal medicine.
Common Use: The flavour of yellow mustard seeds is strong and sharp. They can be ground or crushed and mixed with vinegar and other spices to make homemade mustard, or infused in oil for topical salves.
